Ballad

Alone With Her Phone

by Evelyn Rosmery Sandoval-Lopez

I want to talk to Bethany
But she's constantly on her phone.
She does like a boy named Landon
Before, they met she was alone.

She did meet him out in college
But, she is right here at my home.
The way they can communicate
is always talking on the phone.

If it were not for there cell phones
would they be able to still talk?
its long way to california.
She would not be able to walk.

The cell phone is very useful
without it she might even die.
Before, they met she was alone
Now she has Landon her sweet pie.

It was all because of her cell
She knew he was sent from above.
Through everyday and the night
She was reminded of his love.

But one day she called him 3 times
But he would not pick up his phone
and because of this, she dumped him
now, she has been left all alone.

The Ballad of Asia and Brandi

by Asia Robinson

Asia and Brandi were the best of friends
At least that’s what they showed
Asia and Brandi did everything together
From shopping, to movies, and sharing clothes

One day when they went shopping
Things didn’t go as usual
Brandi got mad in her face
And then the feelings became mutual

Brandi was so sad, she wanted some shoes
She was short on money, So, Asia offered to buy
Brandi accepted and away went her blues,
And Asia didn’t get a “thank you” in reply

Asia thought she should mention
That even though they were best friends
Brandi should pay more attention
To Asia, her besty – her right hand

Asia got over her hurt
Brandi was ashamed on the low
But since they lived together
They couldn’t stay mad at each other forever

The Ballad of Steven

by Steven Robin

He gave him a chance
Now he bout to spark
He can catch you in the light
He can catch you in the dark

He runs in your crib
Take all you got
He cut you up, look what you did
now YOU in the pot

He is what he is
You not what you not
You have no friends
That’s cause you were hot

Now you are dead
Just like Jimmy
And that’s on your head
You are his enemy

This is his ballad
He eat lobster
While you dally
You thought you were a mobster

You thought it was over
He had what you lack
Now he got a Rover
Wit your body in da back

Javonte and Earica

By Diamond Houston

Javonte and Earica were lovebirds
He brought everything from her shoes, to clothes.
Earica was said to follow her Gut feeling
But she couldn’t do that without the leaving

Did she trust him 100%? No, I don’t think so
Javonte was the Untrustworthy type so…
Why he was that way, No one knows
Sometimes, that’s the way it goes, so…

It came to a head, the day of September 17th
When poor Earica couldn’t take anymore
Things changed quickly, but she woke up sweet
“Why am I doing that”, “What was I doing it For”?

Everyone thought and Javonte knew that Gut of hers was evil
She was Cold-Heated and didn’t care
Her mind was set on what she wanted like the Devil
Earica went to the sliding door closet over there

She went in her Louey bag and walked over
To Poor, desperate Javonte and whispered into his ear
“I’m tired of what’s going on between us”, like a soldier
Javonte eyes widened as far as they could strained with fear

She pulled it out and words that she said surprised him…
He thought he was dead, but instead he heard
She said, “Javonte, will you Marry Me”!
Earica, what a crazy old bird
